From time to time, we receive inquiries from parishioners who would like to donate stock in lieu of cash for their annual pledge as well as other contributions.  It is the church’s policy to immediately sell stock that is received as a contribution and apply the proceeds according to the donor’s wishes.  If you would like to donate stock to St Luke’s, please follow this general procedure. 

Call Fr Eric or our treasurer, Cathy Johnner, at the church office to let them know that you are donating stock.  Please let them know who your broker is and what stock is being sold.  This will allow us to easily match the contribution with the donor.  At this time, you may also tell them how you would like to allocate the contribution.  You may designate any portion of the proceeds to your pledge as well as any designated fund such as the Legacy Society.

Instruct your broker to reissue the shares of stock that you wish to donate in the name of St Luke’s Episcopal Church.  Have your broker call Fr Eric or Cathy to let them know that the stock has been donated to St Luke’s.  They will give your broker the authorization to immediately sell the stock and send the proceeds to St Luke’s.  Once the check is received, the proceeds will be applied to your account as you had previously instructed.  If no instruction has been received, 100% of the contribution will be credited to your pledge.
